My Man Godfrey again

Well, I finished it. (See the "My Man Godfrey" post below.) For a while it was a little deeper (a very little) and more complex than the movie. Then the end is pretty silly, just as silly as, say, the end of "North by Northwest" where Cary Grant pulls Eva Marie Saint into the upper berth on the train. But it's interesting to read in the context of the movie, and entertaining along the way. So if anyone wants to borrow it...

Congratulations, Joan, on finishing your book. I seem to have trouble with that one lately. Used to be able to plow through just about anything, but now if it doesn't catch me in the first chapter, I put it aside. Ah, middle age... so many books, so little time. : )

I am just beginning the new club selection, A Great Deliverance. Will let you know what I think (that is if I make it through the first chapter!)

I think it helped that "Godfrey" was pretty light. I've got a nonfiction, Sweet and Low, that's been on my bedside table for months now. I'm about to give up on it.

I'm hoping I like Deliverance this time around, especially since I recommended it...
